Jarman

The Jarman Project

Recently completed a project involving the creation of three outdoor living areas in one backyard. The project included concrete footings, downspout and patio drains, concrete foundations, cinder block walls with veneer stone and custom cut curved wall caps, #57 stone base, custom cut flagstone, herring bone pattern multicolored brick patio, a variety of plant and tree species, grading and sod, and a lighting package throughout for nighttime enjoyment, all of which were skillfully blended together to create a beautiful and functional space.

Dodie

The Dodie Project

A bluestone patio and deck creates a cozy and inviting outdoor space. This design features a composite deck off the back door with string lighting and a privacy wall. The deck leads down several steps to a boulder stepping stone walkway that leads to an 18ft diameter bluestone patio. The patio has tight joints and is surrounded with boxwoods and various plant specimens, creating a warm dual outdoor space with elevation. With this design, you can create a space that is perfect for entertaining family and friends.

Nebraska

The Nebraska Project

Our client now has a beautiful and inviting patio fireplace surrounded by straight lines and EP Henry and Techo bloc materials. The fireplace is the centerpiece of the patio, providing warmth and a cozy atmosphere. The free standing staircase, built in grill and seating area around the fireplace create an inviting outdoor living space to relax and enjoy. The addition of the marble counter top and wall pillars complete the look, giving it a sleek and modern feel.

The Stougton Project

The Stoughton Project

We were ecstatic to work with our clients on this wonderful back yard pool. It was asking for a renovation with the broken and deteriorated split rail fence, the cracking and separating concrete pool deck, and the outdated brick addition that was being taken over by the overgrown weeds and shrubs. We were able to revamp the entire area and give it a brand new shine with techo blu 60 champlaine gray pavers. In addition to the new patio deck, we removed all surrounding weeds and shrubs, excavated the hill and incorporated boulders to retain the soil and provide more space for entertaining guests. Not only are the boulders retaining the soil, it also ties the entire area together providing stairs for access and a jumping rock for children and adults to dive into the pool. We are happy with how all of the landscaping filled in the area and still have plenty of room to grow.

Lessick

The Lessick Project

Our Lessick project had a combination of different materials that brought this backyard to life. After a tornado ripped through the property 2 years ago, our clients had been in temporary living until the house was refinished. We wanted to help expand their living space to the outside to entertain and relax while watching the sunset behind the trees. We installed techobloc blu 60 pavers to create a walkway from the driveway to the backyard. A raised freestanding deck allowed for easy transition through the back doors. 16” wide triple board stairs that were the deck corner make entering and exiting the deck space simple and fluid complimenting the sleek black cable rails that match the furniture framing.  An irregular flagstone patio was installed for a fire pit and Adirondack chairs. To finish it off, we planted various species of plants and trees around the living space and the property lines for privacy.

Bates

The Bates Project

One of our favorite projects to date. This beautiful home with a high end second story deck needed a first story patio for entertainment. The biggest issue that our clients faced was the path going from the driveway that was 10+ feet above the first story door. With all of that elevation we concluded that a boulder walkway with steps made the most sense to walk from your car to the patio. We excavated all of the backfill dirt under the deck (not to damage any of the plumbing for the deck, installed fabric, drainage for the house and patio was dropped in, built a stone base, added veneer to the foundation of the house that was now exposed, placed stone steps to the door entrances and manually placed each boulder to retain the soil on the hillside. From there we installed pavers in a random pattern, excavated the hill and started to build the staircase which would ultimately create planting beds for trees and shrubs. Once everything was installed, we dropped the hot tub in place with the electrical lines ready for hook up, and added path and spot lights throughout the space. In addition to the living space against the house, we were also requested to build a flagstone fire pit area tucked away in the woods on the bottom of their property. It was one of the most relaxing places we have created with a great view of the sunset.

The Pavia Project

At the beginning of the project, the property was a complete mud pit. Not a blade of grass in site. It was a construction site that needed a complete overhaul to host a wedding in 3 months. We started with regrading the entire property with fill dirt to compaction. Building of the patio from the ground up required several triaxles of stone and several hundred feet of wall block and pavers. The patio was built up to the rear door for an easy transition to the outdoor space. Patio equipped with a built in grill, pizza oven, dining and hot tub area. A walkway was then constructed to connect the front yard to the back yard. Rock steps were placed to access the shed. Once it was all completed, we incorporated boulders and river rock throughout the property. We finish graded the entire property with clean top soil and mushroom dirt, perfect for planting. Trees were planted and privacy shrubs and plants were added and finished off with black mulch.

The Mead Project

A basic front walkway needed a natural feel. We excavated all of the concrete on site and removed all of the grass and boxwood hedges. The soil was opened up and a stone base was created for the new walkway. Pennsylvania irregular flagstone was brought in and cut to fit. The joints are less than 1/8” thick. Polymeric sand was added for drainage. The entire walkway has fiber concrete edge restraint. We incorporated irrigation lines powered by Bluetooth and landscape path and spot lighting with transformer.  Boulders and perennials were added to create a natural landscape perfect for morning coffee enjoyment. We also added a simple water feature for the birds and the bees along with adding a natural sound element to the space.
